The majority of robot vacuums and mops can be customised using a specialized app to save the maps of your home, set cleaning schedules and select mopping modes. They also let you change suction power and fine-tune the amount of water and scrubbing action your mop uses.

The robot vacuum has a suction power of 6,000 pascals, which is more than any other robot vacuum we've tested. It's also equipped with PreciSense LiDAR navigation that tracks its position, preventing it from getting stuck on objects.

Its mopping functionality is also impressive, with the S8 Pro Ultra able to apply constant pressure of over 6 Newtons to the mop pad, resulting in a deep clean. It also comes with mop lifter that will lift the pad automatically when it transitions between tile and laminate or hardwood flooring, as well as carpet or rugs, to avoid soaking soft surfaces.

The S8 Pro Ultra also has self-washing and self-drying capabilities. The pad can be cleaned and heat-dried within the dock and the dust bin will get emptied and automatically returned to it. This means you can just set it and forget it, and only need to change the dust bag or refill the water tank every now and then.

All of this is powered by a 5,200mAh lithium-ion battery. The S8 Pro Ultra ran on its usual vac- and mop-settings for approximately 160 minutes before it started to run out of power, and then returned to its base to recharge. This is within the range of the 180-minute time that Roborock claims and is comparable with other hybrids that I've test.

It's a well-rounded, capable product. The only issue is that it's costly. Its sheer number of features make it an appealing choice for anyone who is looking to replace their old stick vacuums and mops. We would highly recommend this vacuum if you can justify its price.

2. Dreametech L10S Ultra

The Dreametech L10S Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a high-end combination. The high price is justified by its robust features, including a large vacuuming capability and two gyrating mop heads. It also comes with a smart, app-enabled controller and a mighty obstacle avoidance technology.

The L10S Ultra is one of the most expensive robotic vacuum and mop combinations out there, at a recommended retail price of 999 euros. In my tests, it performed admirably throughout the house. It removed 98.4 percent of the debris on all types of floors and managed to lift long hair without tangling. The mops also performed well and produced excellent cleaning results with less effort than mid-range models, thanks to their rotational motion as well as the powerful cleaning solution.

The docking station is the real selling aspect of the L10S Ultra. It's multifunctional and advanced. The docking station emptys the trash bin into a bag to collect dirt, then refills the water tank for mopping and even dries your mop pads. It has a real-time hazards detection system, and its intelligent controls allow you to schedule periodic cleaning sessions.

The L10S Ultra does not offer the Best robot vacuum cleaner UK performance in removing carpet debris in comparison to the other hybrid vacuum mops I tested. This powerful mop and robovac combo packs an impressive 8,000 Pa of suction power as well as a massive battery capacity to power both vacuuming and mowing and a top-of-the-line obstacle avoidance. It has a roller-mop that cleans by itself, making it stand out from other models that require you to return to the base station to wash off the mop pad.

The S1 Pro has a unique mopping mechanism that is distinct from the spinning discs and microfibre pads found in other robots. The roller covers the entire width of the robot and is continuously supplied with ozonated, clean water from its dock. While it spins the roller scrubs your floors while soaking up dirt and any dry debris is removed by the side brushes, or swept into the front colision bumper. The S1 Pro dumps mop water that is dirty into its base station where it is sucked up by the heater elements of the tank and emptied into a larger storage container. The onboard tank holds plenty of water, and can manage about a dozen mopping sessions before running dry.

The S1 Pro comes ready to use out of the package as do other robotic vacuums and mops. It does need to be filled with clean water, but this is a simple task within the cleaning dock. You can also add a cleaning solution to the dock, if you prefer to have the option of using your own cleaner. If you do select this option, you'll need to purchase the cleaning solution from Eufy which is more expensive than other robot brands that allow you to use your own cleaning products.

As with most robots like it, the S1 Pro did well in the area of coverage and navigation efficiency. It was fast to map a room, and it was able to navigate through furniture. The only issue is that it got stuck a few times on larger pile carpets and rugs during my tests however this could be rectified as the software is updated. 4. Roborock Qrevo

The Qrevo is Roborock's cheapest mop and vacuum. However, it still has some amazing features. Its multi-function dock drains the robot's dirtbag, and refills its water tanks, while washing and sanitizing mop pads as it moves. The mopping system is able to be able to clean a large area prior to returning to its dock. The vacuum's extreme suction is perfect for picking up pet hair and other debris that accumulates on carpets.

The app that runs this appliance is complex, with a broad variety of options to personalize the cleaning process. You can clean manually all areas that are mapped by this device, or select individual rooms, expandable zone, or a custom routine you've designed. SmartPlan is one of the mopping options. It uses the sensors on the mops to map out the area and determine the most efficient way to clean it.

Like all Roborock models we've evaluated, the Qrevo performs well in our tests. Its navigation system works well in locating rooms quickly and cleaning in an organized manner. The 'Normal' setting for pathing is excellent at covering a space, with no major gaps or missing areas. The Reactive Tech hazard avoidance system works fairly well, too however it's not as sophisticated as the color camera system of the Qrevo Master or the S8 Pro Ultra. It is able to detect dangers like carpets with thick padding, but may not be able recognize smaller items such as electrical wires and rug tassels.

This machine has one major problem: it doesn't include a mop option after vacuuming. This could be a problem for people who automatic vacuum and mop frequently prior to using their robot. There's a good workaround: the app includes an option to "clean up" at the end of every vacuuming session. You can use the mopping features of the vacuum to get rid of the last traces and dust that remained after vacuuming.
