Saab Key Programming

saab 9-5 key replacement cars built since about 1994 have an immobilizer system made up of coded keys. A new transponder is required for the addition of an additional key, and special programming. This is usually done by the dealer, using a specially-designed Tech2 diagnostic tool.

Transponder key

Jump-starting the battery

A lot of people keep an assortment of tools in their trunk to jump-start their car in case of emergency, however it might not be a good idea for cars with more modern technology. These vehicles are equipped with computers and digital devices which communicate with one another. A voltage surge when the battery is connected to another battery could damage the components and render your vehicle unusable.
