WoW Upgrades - The Item Level Upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade items boosts the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for the latter due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item upgrader mod will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade item weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with an button, which will show a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through several methods, which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items are from a different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests can only be used on equipment of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests only have one purpose and it's crucial to use them wisely. It is Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
