On April 28, MTV staged its inaugural O Music Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada. In a very unusual ceremony, celebrities performed their acts and received awards on several different locations around the world, with their video shoots being streamed in the gambling city, in what turned out to be one of the most innovative and unprecedented award shows ever. According to the rockers and hosts Matt and Kim, the event was "about every gigabyte of music activity known to man."

The actual ceremony was held at Las Vegas' famous Fremont Street, and the rocker duo started the proceedings with two of their own songs, before inviting Cee Loo Green, who went online and gave the Most Innovative Artist Award to none other than the most creative minded artist of the current era, Lady Gaga.

The Mother Monster won two trophies, with the second one for being the most followed artist on social networking website Twitter.com. The pop queen courteously accepted the awards and had a message for her millions of Tweeps watching her live. "To all the monsters watching, surge on," she said.

Chidera "Chiddy" Anamege from Chiddy Bang made great use of the O Music Awards stage to beat the Guinness World Record of "Longest Freestyle Rap," by rapping for nine hours, 18 minutes and 22 seconds- two more than the previous record. He celebrated his record breaking feat by spitting his new single "No One Like Me" in front of the Vegas crowd, which was filled with many celebrity lookalikes.

Later on in the show, Lupe Fiasco and Foster the People also took to the stage on separate occasions and did what they do best. But the best of all the performers were undoubtedly Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

Even though he wasn't in attendance, teen sensation Justin Bieber managed to get himself a part in the show through Lil B's song "Justin Bieber." Soon after that, 30 Seconds to Mars' "Hurricane" won the award for the Best NSFW Video. The band is currently on tour and therefore they had to accept the award in a bathroom- another O Music innovation. Like everyone, they also thanked fans for their love and support.

Alex Goot was adjudged to be the winner of Best Fan Cover Award for his version of Britney Spears' "Hold It against Me." He followed up his acceptance of the trophy by singing B.o.B's "Don't Let Me Fall," whose soft melody was well-liked by the audience.

The fan-voted Favorite Fan Army Award, which was campaigned for by the YouTube teen star Rebecca Black, went to Tokio Hotel's Humanoids and that concluded the unusual but entertaining O country music radio Awards ceremony.Get more info by smooth jazz radio online.
