What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader is an additional widget at the top of both the Angel and Cash Upgrade Windows. This Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no gameplay benefit aside from making it easier to see and buy upgrades.

Certain items come with a built-in boos, which is less useful when upgraded. For instance, the Goldwrap offers an additional potion slot. They are usually upgraded to increase the value of a perfect or near-perfect Best Item Upgrader.

Costs

There are a few costs related to upgrades of items. The most significant cost is the upgrade itself. It can be costly and depends on the new ilvl of the item and the number perks it gains. A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version thereof can be used to boost the chances of an upgrade being successful. This item is useful if you have an item upgrade or weapon equipment that is at the highest level for its tier or is close to it. This item lets you upgrade the equipment to the next level without the risk of breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful it will be returned to its original state. This is typically a break, but can also be a downgrade. Keep an upgrade in reserve until you're close to the maximum level of an item.

There are a variety of items available in the Kafra shop that can be used to improve the chances of an upgrade succeeding. For instance upgrading an equipment using HD Oridecon or HD Elunium repeatedly will give you an increased chance of success.
