UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Over time, the handles on your doors will wear down and require replacement. In this case, it is important that the new handles match the exact dimensions of the old handle.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever or lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be put in on new or replacement doors. This kind of handle is available in a variety of styles and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is distinct from the lever handles used on the majority of doors. These handle types can either operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two offset or inline spindles (pad). They are commonly employed on UPVC doors with double glazed window handle glazing and come in a variety of finishes and variations.

The handles have been tested to at least 200k cycles and are available in a variety of finishes like White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with the best performance and long-lasting durability for the purpose it was designed for.

All UPVC handle lever pads come with a spindle, screws, and can be fitted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm permit a larger handle, which is typically beneficial when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers are also spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles that slide out of their horizontal position when they are not being used.

When selecting the replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is crucial to match the PZ dimensions of the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement is also called the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres' and is a critical aspect to match the correct handles.

Once you have the proper PZ size you will then be required to make sure that the handle lever pads and push pads are a suitable shape to fit the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant handles that you need for your doors. Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are usually found on uPVC doors, but they can also be found on other types of door handle replacement. They work by using a key to unlock a cylinder case which is then revealed with pins that can be aligned with those in the lock body, allow them to rotate the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins, with internal and external doors usually requiring different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is crucial. It depends on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. Doors that are external, for instance are required to be fitted with higher security cylinders and doors inside can be secured using a standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders come with additional features that can improve security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn in the event that one is present. It is best to do this while the lock is in place however if this is not feasible, you can take it off and take it off to measure. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon may be susceptible to attacks like snapping locks, therefore it is essential that it is not too long.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with sprung multipoint lock. They won't work with handles that are not sprung and you'll have to cut a hole in your backplate in order for them to fit.
