Drooping lever door handles can be caused by many factors. The most frequent reason is that the fixings have been over tightened, and are putting pressure on the bearings of the lever, and causing it to pull against the door's surface. It could also be that the levers aren't operated in a straight line and this is compressing the latch mechanism and preventing it from fully springing back into action.

A common cause of a spring lever not operating properly is that the spring is not being in the right position on the backplate. The most effective way to determine this is to turn the handle to see if it returns to its horizontal position.
