1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a solid and well-built machine that does excellent job of vacuuming dry floors. It has a huge external dirt compartment that it automatically empties into the docking station once full and resumes cleaning once it's fully charged. It's efficient in removing small and medium debris from floors with no floor, though it struggles with pet hair and has high recurring costs.

This robot, like the i3 EVO uses iRobot’s iAdapat navigation software to help you learn and remember your home. It also comes with an option that automatically adjusts its head's height and suction power according to the floor type it's working on.

In our tests it performed admirably on both hard floors as well as carpets with low pile, picking up most of the smaller, harder debris we dropped on each surface, while also tackling the larger cereal crumbs we deposited on the carpet. It's a little less adept in bagless robotic cleaning devices pet hair than a few of the top models we've tested however, and it could be stuck on toys or cords when you don't pick them up before you send the robot out to clean.

In our tests, it cleaned for around 90 minutes before the battery went out and returned to the base. That's better than the i7+ and s9+ which both ran for only 60 minutes in our tests. However, its battery is very small, which means you will need to recharge it regularly in case you are planning to use the robot for a long period of time. It is relatively easy to maintain, with an empty dirt bag which can be easily replaced, and a simple maintenance schedule. It is also cheaper than its more expensive counterparts.

The Q5 Pro can be a little finicky when it is dealing with pet hair and larger debris, but it does a solid job overall. In our tests, it removed more debris from floors and carpets with low pile than the Dirt Devil Endura Max, though it struggled to get into the tight corners and receding areas of high-pile carpet. It's also more flexible, and its filtering system does a fantastic job of trapping allergens. However its straight bagless suction vacuums floorhead is low to be able to move over medium or heavy debris. It also has a few other minor drawbacks that include its lack of advanced features and limited remote control capabilities. Despite these limitations however, the Eureka Q5 Pro is a excellent choice for those who are looking for an affordable robot bagless vacuum robots that can mop.

3. SwitchBot K10 Plus

The SwitchBot K10 Plus is a great option for those who want a powerful bagless vacuum robots that also mop. This small robot's compact design lets it reach places that larger robots cannot, such as corners and under furniture. It also has a LiDAR sensor that can detect obstacles and help avoid collisions.

In our testing, the K10 Plus vacuumed up pet hair dust, crumbs and other particles quickly and efficiently from our carpet. It also was able to reach into tight spaces like under our beds or around the legs of chairs. It can be used to mop with a separate cloth, or use a wet wipe. There is a small package of wet wipes that comes with the K10 Plus to get you started.

The app for K10 Plus is easy to use and intuitive. It has several customization options that include setting a date when the machine will not be disturbed, altering its map layout, or setting a schedule of when it should clean. The app tracks the life expectancy of accessories such as the side brush, sensor and bin filter. This helps you determine when it is time you should replace the items.

The K10 Plus's battery life is pretty good too. We were able to get around three hours of cleaning of it with the full charge. It charges quite quickly. It ejects dirt into a bin located in the base station once it's finished. This can be loud when it occurs, but at the very least it's not as loud as some of the other self-emptying robot vacuums we've tried.

4. iRobot S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is part of the premium S Series of the manufacturer, above models such as the iRobot Roomba j7 or iRobot Roomba i3. It performs very well on different flooring types and can be maneuvered easily around furniture. Its main brushroll features counter-rotating rubber scrapers which effectively remove most dirt including pet hair from carpets and floors. Its suction strength in the real world is good for a robot but not as strong as premium alternatives such the Roborock S8.

The Roomba S9+'s design is distinctly premium, with a D-shaped body that looks much more modern than its circular counterparts. The shape makes it easier to fit into corners and along edges with ease. It will still leave dust behind in these areas if you don't turn the corner brush in a fast enough manner. However its powerful motor is more than enough to make up for it.

In the tests conducted by iRobot it was found that the S9+ was able to pick up cat litter and pet hair effortlessly. It also performed exceptionally well on hard floors, where it utilized its powerful motor to blast through the majority of debris, and clean all corners and edges with ease. Its advanced vSLAM and Imprint Smart Mapping technology also made it one of the top navigators we've tested, and it has a a rock-solid grasp of the floorspace it can even locate its way through sofas or beds with the drape of a valance over them.

Setting up and operation is easy with the iRobot application. You can select which functions you'd like to enable when you set up the robot, or you can hold off until you've had familiar with it. Its internal bin needs to be empty manually every now and then as it fills up The process is less than 15 seconds and it's fairly quiet.

5. Roborock S8

The most recent version of the Roborock S Series is a powerful robot vacuum and mop combination with a robust feature set. Like its predecessors, it utilizes a LIDAR sensor and camera system for navigation and obstacle avoidance. The app's mapping system creates an interactive 3D map of your home that allows you to mark specific rooms for spot cleaning or set up no-go zones. The app allows you to manage the robot's schedule and choose different mopping and vacuuming modes for each room.

The S8 also features upgraded HyperForce suction that sucks up hair and other fine particles with ease. You can use the app to adjust the suction power and the device will switch between energy-efficient 'Quiet, Balanced', and 'Turbo' modes based on the surface it's cleaning. It also comes with an Carpet Suction Boost mode that boosts suction when the robot is on rugs.

The S8 can be controlled by a single button that also serves as a 'Cleaning' button for the entire robot or the Spot Clean button that directs it to a particular area. Press the 'Dock/Home' button for the robot to go to its base station. The app is surprisingly dense feature set and is easy to use. You can even select the time you charge your phone off-peak to save money on peak time electricity.

The S8's only downside is that the battery doesn't last nearly as long as I'd like. It lasted only 130 minutes when I used it on standard settings, with both vacuuming & mopping turned on. It's still a long time and was enough to get my apartment clean.
